Land Rover Defender Destroyed in the U.S.

Baltimore - The U.S. Customs and Border Protection's forced to destroy all illegal Land Rover Defender cars coming to Baltimore, USA. The way to protect the local customer.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) assess the entire Land Rover Defender coming into Baltimore between 1993 and 1997 did not meet the safety standards of the local government. Land Rover Defender seized at the Baltimore seaport was destroyed earlier this week following an illegal and unsafe import.

This Defender is one of several stopped at ports for violating federal highway safety standards. Some vehicles did not have security features iron shields and airbags in each door, and were destroyed because their Vehicle Identification Numbers had been altered or manipulated.

This Land Rover model is valued at $25,000 overseas, but the car could be resale in the U.S. for as much as $150,000.

"Ensuring the safety of imported products is a top priority for CBP," said Allen Gina, Customs and Border Protection's assistant commissioner for international trade. "The concerted targeting efforts of CTAC and the vigilance of CBP officers and import specialists at our ports of entry will help ensure that unsafe vehicles from overseas markets do not reach our roadways."

Allen is responsible for international trade and is finding dozens of Land Rover Defender which was imported from England with minimal safety features.

As reported, this SUV was entered by general importers who do not complete the official documents. The importer is not responsible for its rate just wants to take advantage.

According to U.S. CBP, British cars are extremely not safe when used by the public in the U.S. To avoid higher mortality, CBP agreed to demolish the illegal cars.

People buying imported vehicles can confirm how valid the car is by checking the VIN in a vehicle history report.

However, the Land Rover Defender remains a popular off-road vehicle in the U.S.

Want to Buy 4x4 Car Insurance Online, Follow These Tips

Many think and are busy every day but are always connected to the internet, that's a human in modern life. When he watching TV at night for entertainment a commercial came to say hello and asks whether you're paying too much for his car insurance, wants to know instantly, quickly, and accurately answer, you can do it on his lunch hour.

With an Internet connection and a little planning, you can shop for your first policy or look for a better rate, on the internet many auto insurance quotes and information about the companies that issue them. You can see, think smart, and consider low cost as just one factor for the decision. Let's take a look at five tips to keep in mind when you go online to buy 4x4 car insurance.

  • You must Know
Six types of coverage can appear on a typical auto insurance policy: bodily injury liability, property damage liability, collision, medical payments/personal injury protection, comprehensive, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Check with your state's insurance department to find out which types of coverage drivers are legally required to carry and which types are optional.
  • Two Option Ways
Two ways to buy car insurance: You can purchase a policy in-person through an agent-licensed individual who sells policies on behalf of one or more insurance companies or you can buy directly from an insurer via Web site or telephone.

    The Trends is...
With advances in the world of digital information, Buying car insurance online increasing in popularity, but we know still accounts for a relatively small portion of total auto insurance sales. On the whole buying from the agent purchases represents a decline.
  • Prepare Before You Search
No matter where you choose, you shop for car insurance online or go to an agent, prepare all about and detail your car to get an accurate quote. Make sure the year of car production, model, vehicle identification number (VIN), the zip code of where you park the car at night, and any aftermarket safety or anti-theft accessories are installed on the car. Get the license numbers of every driver to be insured under the policy, as well as the date when they were first licensed, and obtain a copy of your driving record. Getting an updated credit score as well as your credit rating can affect your auto insurance premiums since some insurers say those with poor credit scores are more likely to file claims

There are a few steps you can take to get lower insurance premiums, as well. Tally up the number of miles you drove this year versus the previous year a significant decrease in the mileage you drive might help you get a lower quote. Consider completing a defensive driving course online, insuring multiple vehicles (or your home) through the same insurance company, or looking for a plan with a higher deductible. You might even want to eliminate certain types of insurance not required by law in your state; you could forego collision and comprehensive coverage on very old cars, for instance
  • Shop Around
The cost of the same policy can be diverse and vary widely between companies. Comparing quotes, many auto insurance companies have a website you can try logging on to a website like NetQuote.com, Insure.com or InsWeb.com, etc. You can submit information detailing your car and driving history in exchange for an array of quotes from different insurance companies. follow-up by e-mails or phone calls from insurance agents, so wait and check your email, many of the quotes come to you.
  • Visit Your State Insurance Department's Web Site
Auto insurance is regulated on a state-by-state basis, and your state's insurance department usually has a bunch of relevant information to your search in the consumer information section of its Web site. Search the National Association of Insurance Commissioners State Web Map to find a link to your state insurance department.
  • Don't be tempted by cheap offers
A cheap quote doesn't mean you should let it insure your vehicle. Take a close look at the terms of your policy to ensure it matches your last auto insurance policy, and that you're getting an equivalent amount of coverage (or at least the minimum amount required by law in your state). Examine the terms of the agreement to make sure the company doesn't require the use of cheaper aftermarket materials for repairs instead of the original factory parts, which can pose safety hazards.

Boeing Create a Tactical Vehicle

Humvee was over. But that does not mean the U.S. military already does not require all-terrain vehicles such as the Humvee.

Boeing's draft war car named Phantom Badger was shown in the middle of the month Special Operations International Conference in Tampa, Florida. This is a car that can wrestle war on all fronts but does not have the body of a Hummer.

The reason Boeing designed their car for this war is due to freighter aircraft V-22 is not capable of transporting a Humvee. For that, we need a more compact car war to be accommodated in the V-22 hull. There, Phantom Badger was born.

Although compact stature, the ability to drive a car with all-wheel drive is also fairly nimble. This car can climb even has a slope of 60 degrees.

In addition, rivers or floods as high as two feet could still be passed with ease. And to add to the comfort of the soldiers, the car is also equipped with a hydraulic suspension to reduce the shocks that make passenger fatigue.

Boeing is now known to continue to develop and test the Phantom Badger on Nevada Automotive Test Center to anticipate in the case in the future they get contracts from the military.
