This is an ex-military Land Rover that is 35 years old. It has been well used by the armed forces and as such the panels show signs of wear and tear as to be expected. The chassis and bulkhead have been repaired in a number of places and the rear cross member was replaced with a new galvanized one. The engine is a Discovery Tdi turbo diesel fitted minus the intercooler. The canvas tilt is well past its best although seems waterproof at the moment. As this Land Rover has had a DIY engine conversion there are a number of modifications that have been carried out by the previous owner including routing the exhaust and intake pipework through the n/s wing. The wiring could do with tidying up as could the oil cooler pipework. 1966 Land Rover Series IIA 109 Station wagon 5 door. This truck has a super clean chassis. The chassis has been swapped from another Series IIa from the same model and year in the past (VIN number clearly stamped in proper chassis location). No rust anywhere on the chassis/bulkhead with all mechanicals in working order including the rare and original turning signal mechanism. Recently changed both rear half shafts as one of them snapped (kept good half shaft as a spare). The pair of half shafts were ordered from British Pacific here in Sun Valley. The transmission, clutch, transfer case, overdrive, and engine all purr like a kitten and do go 65mph in L.A. traffic. All high and low gears work perfectly along with the four-wheel drive transfer case and its hubs all engage properly as they should. The carburetors were recently serviced and it starts right up on the first push of the start button. Starts on a dime no smoke and runs perfect and smooth..lots of power from the new turbo. Mated up to 5 speed with a locking CDL 4 diff lock. The entire frame has been VERY well preserved. I have taken dozen of pics to illustrate the perfection underneath. You will see military lights under the vehicle near the diffs to help assist under extreme situation. It does come with a cb radio and military antenna. I purchased an aftermarket pioneer cd radio that has not been installed yet. The tires will need to be replaced soon. plenty of thread but some dry rut. All the turn signals front and rear are new! The rear cross member is perfect! No damage anywhere. 2 inch lift helps with articulation when off roading. As you can see from the pics, double fuel filters help really keep the diesel running super clean. This truck is here and title in the US. Ready for new owner to enjoy. The paint it descent. Recently i found a small oil leak from the engine..about the size of a 2 quarters. I think is coming from oil pan..this will need to be address. I do plan to add a snorkel and a very light window tint before i sell it.
