It definitely has its share of scratches from the woods, and the paint is faded, but only has a few minor dings and a few spots of surface rust. Lights work well, has tow hitch and wiring harness. Has power steering, manual windows, manual locks (all work). All glass intact (windshield has a couple chips).
This vehicle turns heads everywhere, not many 1st gen Monteros left in this country. I hate to part with this vehicle, but I already have two other vehicles. It performs very well off road, as long as you stay out of the deepest mud holes. Lights on top are currently not installed. Has safari rack, brush guard, and rock sliders. This was my second vehicle and not driven every day, hence the low miles for the year. I have owned the vehicle since February 2011 and spent $1800 in parts alone, not including tires (I still have most of the receipts).

Here is a list of the new parts. All parts listed have less than 15,000 mi on them.

Complete vehicle fluid flush and replaced with high quality fluids (Engine Oil, Antifreeze, Power Steering fluid, Brake fluid, Clutch fluid, Washer fluid, Rear End fluid, Transmission fluid, Transfer case fluid.)
Fuel System Parts: Fuel Pump, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail were professionally cleaned and flow tested (by Boost Lab in Tampa), Fuel Filter
Engine Parts: Harmonic Balancer, Timing Belt, Camshaft Oil Seals, Crankshaft Seal, Water Pump, Radiator, Power Steering Belt, A/C Belt
Electrical Parts: Mass Air Sensor , Coolant Temperature Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Oxygen Sensor, ECM (good used), Battery, Headlights
Ignition Parts: Distributor Cap & Rotor, Ignition Coil, Spark Plugs, Ignition Wires, Ignition Control Module, Coil Wire
Misc. Parts: Clutch Slave Cylinder, Front Left Brake Caliper, Wheel Alignment, New Tires All Around (Firestone Destination A/T)

The bad: It could use new valve guides / seals (common to Mitsubishi 3.0 v6) since it is burning about a quart of oil every 1,000 mi, needs new tie rod ends installed (I have them already), left turn signal does not blink automatically (trailer wiring probably loose).

Even without repairing any of these things, it is very drivable and dependable. It starts right up, and runs great. I would take this vehicle anywhere (especially the woods)!
