Found this one former military radio truck based on a 1966 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 4x4 truck being offered for sale by the owner located in Sebastopol, California. The Unimog was listed on craigslist about 9 days ago and is still online today when we posted it here. Runs and drives well with no mechanical issues and sold with a lot of assorted extra parts. It would be a great base for an overlander camper conversion. If you're interested, please read more details below.

Detail by owner
1966 Unimog 404.1 Bundeswehr radio box camper conversion. It's currently registered in CA as a camper, and is smog exempt. She starts up quickly, shifts well, and the engine sounds healthy. The seats in the back fold into a bed once the table is removed giving you quite a lot of sleeping space, there are also electrical connections in the back. The heater connected to the front of the box hasn't been tested, but should be functional with a little maintenance.

Here's a list of new parts and things I've done to her: New clutch plate and clutch fork, 4 new drum brakes, New-old stock rubberized canvas soft top, New exhaust pipe, New spark plugs and spark plug wires, New distributor cap and rotor, New oil filter and oil change, New windshield wiper blades, New batteries, Newish fuel pump, Assorted hoses and hose clamps replaced as needed, Greased as many grease nipples as I could find. Probably some more things done so I'll add them as I remember. Comes with assorted extra parts and stuff as pictures above, including a lot of nice original spare lights in little metal boxes.

Paint is original Bundeswehr woodland and German markings and warnings are still visible. There are a few rusty areas but mostly pretty solid. All the gauges work except the spedo which means I'm not entirely sure what the actually odo reading is but it reads aroun 50k kilometers (about 30k miles). Feel free to send an offer, and if you have any questions please ask. Thanks for looking! NOTE: EBAY AND CRAIGSLIST are the only places I am listing this!! Anywhere else you see this is a scam.
