1961 Willys Jeep CJ-5 with a 1957 Chevrolet 283 V-8 engine mated to the original 4-speed transmission. Runs very well and drives fine. Still geared low so it's not a highway runner because at 60 MPH that Chevy is taking pretty high. But mud, snow, and trails are its home. The body is in good condition, with some minor rust and some spots that may have been repaired before, this is a Wyoming high desert vehicle so rust isn't a problem. The frame is solid. The ragtop is pretty much shot as the seams are opening (thread rot) and the windows are scratched and worn, back window is torn up. I have a disassembled hardtop that has all of the steel panels but is missing some windows (flat glass easy to find and cheap) and some hardware.

It was sitting for several years before I bought it in 2006. It now has a rebuilt 360 engine - Napa did the work - with very few miles on it. (less than 50) It has a rebuilt carb, new radiator, heater core, belts, hoses, fuel pump, fan clutch, fluids, and filters. It starts right up and runs great! It has BFG All Terrain tires all around. All the glass is good. The body is in good condition and doesn't have any rust. The interior is in fairly good condition but could use a little TLC. The headliner is sagging down and the driver seats it a little worn. It's a show vehicle, but it's a solid foundation for a great builder/driver.
