Owner Says
Up for sale, one of a kind. I've never seen another one in person. Owner before me claimed it was the only one sold in California. Turns heads everywhere we go. I used it as a backup vehicle and for occasional side work. It's been to the Sierra's once on a camping trip, once to Hungry valley just to say we did.
  • AMC 258cu in inline six. Torquey, smooth motor. Could use a rebuild. Not a monster but it gets up and goes good with the 4.09 gears from the factory.
  • 3 Speed transmission, non-synchro 1st gear. Rebuilt a few years ago but low miles on the rebuild. -NP205 divorced transfer case rebuilt same time as the trans. It doesn't shift for some reason but I only took it into the dirt once so never got around to looking at it.
  • Dana 44 axles front and rear. Bullet proof for the application.
  • 33x12.5x16.5 BFGoodrich All Terrains are a few years old (5-ish yrs) but also with low miles. -Speedometer reads dead on.
  • Extra heavy duty springs from the factory, rides nice, not too harsh. Suspension flexes really well off road.
  • The body is pretty straight with some rust in the usual places. Doors close super nice!
  • Paint looks good when waxed up.
  • Glass is good.
  • Gauges work good except the fuel gauge vacations sometimes. (I log miles at fill-up and keep spare fuel on board.
  • Looks better without the shell but it's good for keeping things secure.
  • Manual steering, manual brakes manual windows so you can cancel your gym membership.
  • Clifford intake with a holley 390cfm 4 barrel carb.
  • Hooker header with turbo muffler, sounds good. (I've got a stock intake and exhaust somewhere, goes with it.)
  • MSD Ignition
  • Cab has dynomat, newer headliner,
  • 125w 4 channel amp running 2 speakers in the doors. I was going to run a subwoofer but never got around to it.
  • Pioneer stereo with blue tooth and usb.
  • Original locking hubs although one is non-functional it still can be manually locked.

Took it to the Peterson Museum for their Sunday breakfast, once parked folks walked away from the six pristine XKE's and assorted Ferrari's to crowd around and check out the lone IH in the lot.

Looking for $4400 or best reasonable offer. Low ball offers will be ignored. If it doesn't sell in the next couple of weeks I may come to my senses and keep it. I might be willing to trade for another full size 4x4 (something that can haul 4 or 5 adults) and some cash.
